    Hi Terry, For best voice options, we recommend you use either Dolphin EasyReader or Voice Dream Reader. Both apps come with high quality voices pre-loaded and also have the option to purchase additional voices.     reMarkable Tablet

    Hello Heather, According to the reMarkable website, https://support.remarkable.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002658737-Ebooks, they can support ebooks that are in EPUB format. Bookshare books can be downloaded in an EPUB format to your computer. If you are able to use the reMarkable desktop app to transfer the EPUB files downloaded from the Bookshare website, you should be able to transfer Bookshare books to your reMarkable tablet device. If you would like assistance downloading a book in EPUB, please feel free to contact Bookshare customer support at support@bookshare.org. I would then recommend contacting reMarkable tech support for assistance with the process of transferring EPUB files to your device, as the Bookshare tech support team does not provide support for this device at this time.

    Hello Robin, You can always check the members list for your organization to see if the students on your roster have been added yet.     Decodable books

    Hello Ali, If you search for the phrase "decodable readers" in the search bar on our website, you will find some books in our collection that include that in their title. If you are using the Bookshare Web Reader, you can also download the browser extension called "BeeLine Reader" to access a font specifically designed for dyslexic readers.

    Returning books??

    Hello Ashley, No, there is no need or ability on our website to return the books you download. You can continue to access them using our Web Reader for as long as your subscription is active and any files that you have downloaded will remain in your device unless you choose to delete them.

    Read book in Voice Dream

    Hello Karen, To search for a book in Voice Dream Reader: 1. From Voice Dream Reader’s main screen, tap on Add button, the “+" icon, in the top left corner 2. Tap on “Bookshare” To search for a specific book, tap on the search box at the top of the window. Otherwise, choose a category from the list. To download a book, tap on the Download button next to its title. The book you download will then appear on the app's home menu under "all items." You can select the book from the home menu and press the play button to begin the audio. If these instructions are not sufficient, please feel free to call us for direct assistance at 650-352-0198 option 2 for tech support. Our normal hours are 9am to 5pm PST, Monday through Friday.

    Expiration on account

    Hello Nikki, Bookshare is fully active all year long, and assigned books do not expire. If this student has an Individual Membership account, then the parent might be referring to the subscription renewal date. If the subscription on an account expires, then it does need to be renewed before the member can continue to access books.     Activation ID

    Hello Max, Unfortunately, the Activation ID cannot be added to an account after it has been created. The field for the Activation ID appears in the second question of the sign up process where it asks if the member is a student. The third radio button for the question says "I have an Activation ID." When you select that radio button, a field appears for you to input the Activation ID. If you wish the account you created for your son to be linked to an Organizational Account, you can ask a sponsor for that organization to link his existing Individual Membership Account to their organization using the email address associated with his account. You can also reach out to membership@bookshare.org to request that the account you already created be deleted and then recreate it using the Activation ID.

    Accessing Organization's Reading lists

    Hello Mike, You can see any reading lists shared within your organization from your "my reading lists" page when signed into your sponsor account. On that page, there is a "subscribe" button next to the "create" button at the bottom of the list of reading lists that you have created. When you click that button, a pop up window will appear where you will see all reading lists that are available for you to subscribe to. If you wish to see only the reading lists created by other sponsors at your organization, you can use the drop down menu at the top of that pop up window that allows you to filter out all public lists. There is an instructional video that explains this in detail available on your "my reading lists" page as well. It is located on the left hand side of the page under the "learn more" heading.

    Teacher using bookshare

    Hello, Sponsors can download books on behalf of their members, but they do not have access to the Bookshare Web Reader. In order to download a book that you have assigned to a member, please follow the steps below: 1. Log into your sponsor account. 2. Find the book you would like to access either in "reading lists" or by using the search bar at the top of the page. 3. Click on the "Download" button located in the "Action" column for the book you wish to download. 4. On the next page, check the box next to the name(s) of the member(s) for whom you wish to download the book and choose the file format you would like it to be downloaded in from the drop down menu in the last column. 5. Click the blue "Prepare Books" button and then click "Confirm" in the pop up window. 6. On the following page, wait for the loading symbol in the "status" column for the book to change to the word "Available." When this word appears, click on it to download the book to your computer.
