Textbook on Chromebook and Web Reader

I have assigned a textbook to a student with an IEP.  When she logs in to bookshare to read it, she gets this message and there is no "Read now' button.  She is using a Chromebook.

"This book is not available in Web Reader. Your sponsor can download it for you."

Thanks!

Hi Sarah,

Unfortunately this means this particular book is too big and complex for now for our Web Reader.  We are working to expand the capabilities of our Web Reader, but in the mean time the best option is to download the book through a compatible DAISY reading application.

On Chromebooks we recommend assisting the student in creating a free account for Capti Narrator as that will definitely have access to the book, and may honestly provide even better overall features than our Web Reader.

Tried Capti and got this message:

Sorry, this track cannot be added because it is greater than 100MB

Any other ideas for how to access this textbook on a chromebook?

Thanks!

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I'm sorry I did not realize this book would reach the Capti limit.  Unfortunately there's not many other options on Chromebooks, does the student have access to a tablet device or a computer?
