Audio books and IEP

I have a student that has an IEP and qualifies for a Bookshare account but does not have audio books listed on his IEP. Am I able to create a Bookshare account or do I have to have his IEP amended?

Susan is absolutely correct. Students are not required to have either an IEP or a 504 plan in order to have a Bookshare account. As long as the student has a qualifying Print Disability and a Competent Authority is able to verify it, they can be added to an Organizational Account or have an Individual Membership Account created for them.

For more information about qualifying Print Disabilities and who can serve as a Competent Authority, please visit this page on our website: https://www.bookshare.org/cms/bookshare-me/who-qualifies
