Individual Acct access to text books

I have a parent that has created an individual account for their student who is at a private school. The student is not listed with an organizational account/school. Are text books still available in an individual account created by a parent? Thank you!

Hello Tracie,

Individual Membership accounts do have access to most textbooks in our collection once they have been completed. The only exception is that NIMAC-sourced titles will not be accessible to a member using an unlinked Individual Membership account, because those books must always be assigned by a sponsor in order for them to be accessed by a member. If this student would like to continue using their Individual Membership account, you can link it to your organization so that you, or another sponsor can assign them their text books by following these steps: https://www.bookshare.org/cms/help-center/how-can-i-link-my-students-existing-individual-account-my-organizational-account
